3. Cargador Service Update

Warning

The “Cargador Service Update” chapter contains information which you might need only if you are installing Cerebro along with local Cargador server, i.e, in hybrid cloud or local configuration (see section “Cerebro System Update”).

In order to replace Cargador executable, you should stop the service temporarily.

3.1. Stopping the Cargador service

Windows

Open the Services tool. To do this click Start, choose Control Panel double click Administrative Tools, then Services.

In the list select the Cargador service, and in the Action menu click Stop or click the right mouse button on the service itself and then choose Stop from the context menu.

Linux

In the Linux you should run the following command with root permissions (script name may differ depending on the Linux family):

/etc/init.d/cargador.debian stop

Mac OS X

In the Mac OS X you should run the following command with root permissions:

launchctl unload /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.cerebrohq.cargador.plist

3.2. Starting the Cargador service

Windows

Open Services tool.

Select the Cargador service in the list, in the Action menu click Start or click the right mouse button on a service, and then select Start from the context menu.

Linux

In the Linux you should run the following command with root permissions (script name may differ depending on the Linux family):

/etc/init.d/cargador.debian start

Mac OS X

In the Mac OS X you should run the following command with root permissions:

launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.cerebrohq.cargador.plist

3.3. Executable file update

Cargador service comes as an executable file cargador.<linuxNN|macNN|win32.exe> with a set of configuration files within the service-tools (you can download it from the Download/Server Components section at https://cerebrohq.com).

Cargador update consists of unpacking the executable file cargador. <linuxNN|macNN|win32.exe> (according to the server OS) and placing it in a particular folder on the disk during Cerebro installation phase (for example, on Linux it could be /cerebro/cargador/cargador.linux64).

Note

To avoid problems with shared access to the Cargador executable file, stop the service (see section Stopping the Cargador service) before replacing it and start it again after the update.
